Winter Schoolyard Bioblitz
A bioblitz is an event that focuses on finding and identifying as many species as possible in a specific area over a short period of time.
We are challenging Regina Public Schools to see how many species schools can count in the winter. We will be digging down through the snow layers to observe for any small critters in a hibernation state.
Students will be given the tools, easy picture species identification sheets, and instructions on how to use apps to identify the species they have found.
It is recommended to put out bird feeders in the school yard before the bioblitz to attract birds.
