Grade 7 - 12 Canoeing on Wascana Creek

The Outdoor Environmental Education Department now has equipment available for use by Grade 7 - 12 classes to canoe on Wascana Creek. The canoes (15 in total), life jackets, paddles, and safety kits are stored north of the creek off Pasqua Street, near 17th Avenue (Saskatchewan Express Musical Threatre building).

Teachers must have permission from their principal and a minimum of Level 1 flat water canoe certification before they are able to take their class canoeing. These courses are advertised on line through websites such as Prairie Summit, Fresh Air Experience, Sask. Outdoors, or Paddle Canada.

The equipment must be booked in advance, please call the Outdoor Ed. office at 306-523-3150 or email gloria.eskdale@rbe.sk.ca 

Transportation to the site is the responsibility of the school.

High School Canoeing on Wascana Lake

The Outdoor Environmental Education Department has 15 canoes stored at the Wascana Marina for use by high schools to paddle on Wascana Lake. High schools must provide their own equipment. If they do not have life jackets,  paddles, and safety kits they can be borrowed from Outdoor Education (see Outdoor Equipment for Loan).
